The Visiting Vet strives to provide comprehensive, high-quality, and convenient medical, surgical, dental and preventative health care for companions, pets, with compassion, honesty, and integrity. A strong emphasis is placed on client communication and education.
Dr. Rotigel has practiced in the greater Kalamazoo area since 1994. Her goal is to practice high-quality veterinary medicine with integrity, honesty, and compassion. And she delivers on that goal, literally: She brings her practice to her clients in a state-of-the-art, custom-made, full-service LaBoit mobile veterinary clinic.
Dr. Rotigel attended Michigan State University from 1985 to 1994. She obtained a B.S. with teaching certification in Physical Science/Biology in 1989 and a D.V.M. (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) with Honor in 1994. She is a member of the A.V.M.A., the M.V.M.A., the S.W.M.V.M.A. and the L.G.V.M.A.
In addition to helping her regular clientele, Dr. Rotigel also assists the local animal rescue groups such as the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue, and for many years assisted the Kalamazoo County Animal Services with neutering of cats pre-adoption thru the SAVE-A-CAT Program. From May 2002 thru August 2005 Dr. Rotigel also assisted the Kalamazoo Humane Society, by conducting the Operation-Fix-It low-income program — spaying or neutering nearly 4,000 cats!
Dr. Rotigel lives with her family in Battle Creek, Michigan, with 3 cats (Pumpkin, Lilybean, and Cocomochabean), 2 miniature donkeys (Dublin and Oliver) and miniature horse (Chip) and Norwegian Fjord (Luna), about 14 chickens and 13 fish, and last but not least, her miniature golden doodle (Derby).
